About Piper’s Place

Helen Rogers began her career as a veterinary technician, where she developed a deep understanding of animal health. But after witnessing countless behavioral issues in the clinic setting, she shifted her focus to dog behavior and training—where she knew she could make a lasting impact.

Helen is a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and has been an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator since 2018. She continues to attend seminars and invest in continuing education—because with dogs, the learning never ends.

Over the years, Helen has dedicated herself to studying the best and most effective training methods. Her passion for reading, research, and hands-on experience has helped her become the thoughtful, well-rounded trainer she is today.

Her mission is to help families develop clear communication with their dogs, build healthy relationships, and maintain strong, lasting bonds. With a solid foundation in behavior science and years of practical experience, Helen is confident in her ability to guide both dogs and their humans toward success.

If you’re looking to create a happy, cohesive, and stress-free home life with your dog, you’ve come to the right place.

Why “Piper’s Place”?

Piper is an American Pit Bull Terrier, Coonhound, and Chow mix—and Helen’s very first dog as an adult. Piper turned everything Helen thought she knew about raising a puppy upside down. Every day with Piper meant thinking outside the box, adapting, and learning something new.

Piper didn’t just challenge Helen—she inspired her. Raising Piper revealed the importance of honoring each dog’s unique learning style, temperament, and needs. She was mischievous, chaotic, and completely unforgettable. Piper was the catalyst for the work Helen does today and remains her heart and soul.

Piper’s Place exists because of her—and for every dog like her, who just needs someone to see them clearly and guide them with compassion.
